Meet the Joun Wedding Party

In 2024, we will take our vows and dance into forever, celebrating our union surrounded by family, friends, and endless happiness.

  • What is the best mode of transportation while in Lebanon?
For some destinations, walking is feasible. Otherwise, we recommend using trusted taxi services mentioned in our "Logistics" tab, or Uber. Avoid using public buses and unaffiliated street taxis. Company taxis require your contact details for communication. Always reconfirm the booking details with your driver and inquire about the fare in advance. When using taxis, ensure they communicate with their head office for tariff confirmation.
  • Dress code?
Wear anything that makes you feel fabulous and ready to dance!
  • Is the wedding taking place in the capital city, Beirut?
The wedding venue is Arnaoun Village, located about 1.5 to 2 hours from Beirut, a short drive from Batroun, and 30 minutes from Jbeil. For the wedding night, Batroun is a recommended place to stay due to its proximity. If you choose to stay in Beirut, the journey back will take around an hour. We suggest using one of the taxi services listed in our "Logistics" tab.
  • What are the must see areas and must try places in Lebanon?
Must see: Beirut Souks - Downtown Beirut Sursock Museum - Ashrafieh Gemayzeh and Mar Michael neighborhood - Ashrafieh National Museum of Beirut Bliss Street and American university of Beirut - Hamra leitta Grotto - Jounieh Lady of Harissa Church - Jounieh Old Souks - Byblos/Jbeil Bvblos Citadel - Byblos/Jbeil Byblos Port- Byblos/Jbeil Our Lady of the Sea Church - Batroun Phoenician Wall - Batroun Saint Stephen Cathedral - Batroun Port of Batroun - Batroun Old Souks - Batroun Tahet el Rih - Anfeh Samket Gerge Dayaa Lebanese Sea Food Restaurant - Anfeh Cedars od God Forest - Bsharre, North Lebanon Gibran Khalil Gibran Museum - Bsharre, North Lebanon Qadisha Valley and kozhaya - North Lebanon Balou Balaa - Tannourine Must try: Roadster Diner (Stef's go to place) - Ashrafich Boubouffe (for the best Shawarma!) - Ashrafieh Bar Tartine - Ashrafich The Bros (Herb's Fav) - Mar Mikhael Le Trottoir de Paloma - Mar Mikhael Amelia - Mar Mikhael Slate - Mar Mikhael Tavolina - Mar Mikhael Happy Willow - Badaro Capitole By Analoguel - Downtown Iris Beirut - Downtown Kampai - Downtown Zaytouna Bay - Downtown White - Downtown Em Sherif (MUST try for Lebanese authentic food) - Downtown Zaatar w Zeit (good for after party bites) - Zalka Malik Al Tawouk - Zalka Al Abdallah - Zalka Crepeaway - Zalka Spine - Zalka Patchi Café - Batroun Mhanna Sur Mer - (Lebanese Sea Food!) - Byblos/Jbeil Bahsa By Mabdaloun - Batroun Hilmi's House of Lemonade (a must when in Batroun) - Batroun Furn Merchak - Batroun Ahwet Zestouna - Batroun Ohannes - Batroun
  • What is the best currency to use in Lebanon? Should we carry cash or cards?
US dollars are widely accepted in Lebanon, so there's no pressing need to exchange for local currency. However, be aware that receiving change in local currency is common, and it will be the equivalent value in dollars.
  • Where would you recommend booking accommodation in Lebanon?
For an extended stay, consider spending 2-3 days in each key area like Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and Batroun in the North of Lebanon. Refer to our "Accommodation" tab for more details. Feel free to contact us (yes including Herb!) for personalized tips and recommendations.
  • What should I pack for the trip?
Expect warm days and possibly chilly evenings. Pack comfortable clothing, suitable footwear for sightseeing, especially in Jbeil and Batroun, and swimwear for beaches and pools. Most importantly, don't forget your elegant wedding attire!
  • How many days in advance should guests coming from abroad arrive in Lebanon?
The wedding is scheduled for Saturday, June I5th. To enjoy exploring Beirut and the historic coastal town of Batroun, we recommend arriving a few days before the wedding. You're also welcome to stay after the wedding to further explore Lebanon. There will be several optional pre-wedding events leading up to the big day, with more details to come.
  • What information is required for guests who need a visa to enter Lebanon?
We advise you to contact your local Lebanese Embassy or Consulate at least three months prior to your planned departure date for the most accurate and up-to-date visa information.
